DayKeep — Privacy Policy

Version 1.0 · Effective 2 October 2026

The short version

DayKeep does all of its calculations on your device. The figures you enter — your rate, your expenses, your pension contributions, anything else — stay on your iPhone. We never receive them, we cannot see them, and we do not store them anywhere.

We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, tracking, or third-party marketing tools. We do not sell or share any information about you, because we do not have any.

There are only two situations in which we may hold information that relates to you: if you email us, and if Apple gives us aggregated App Store statistics or crash reports. Both are explained below.

1. Who we are

DayKeep is provided by Vladislav Lapets, a sole trader, of Flat 59, 322 Regents Park Road, London, N3 2FH, United Kingdom.

Where we do process personal data, we are the "controller" of it for the purposes of the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

You can reach us about anything in this policy at daykeep@vilae.uk.

2. Information DayKeep handles on your device

To produce an estimate, DayKeep asks you for things like your day or hourly rate, expected working days, expenses, pension contributions and other tax-relevant figures.

All of this is:

None of it is transmitted to us or to anyone else. DayKeep does not need an internet connection to calculate. If your device is backed up to iCloud or to a computer, your DayKeep data may be included in that backup — that backup is controlled by you and by Apple, not by us.

Because we never receive this information, we cannot retrieve it, restore it, or delete it on your behalf.

Storage on your device. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003, storing information on your device generally requires your consent unless the storage is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for. DayKeep only stores information on your device in order to deliver the calculation function you have requested and to remember your settings between sessions. We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, device fingerprinting, advertising identifiers, or the App Tracking Transparency framework, and we do not store or access anything on your device for advertising, profiling or analytics purposes.

3. Information we may receive

3.1 If you contact us. If you email us for support or with a question, we will have your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you choose to tell us.

3.2 App Store statistics and crash reports from Apple. Apple may make available to us aggregated statistics about downloads, and crash and performance diagnostics. These are provided by Apple, are aggregated or pseudonymised by Apple before we see them, and are only shared with developers where the device user has chosen to share analytics with app developers in their iOS settings. We do not receive names, email addresses or contact details through this, and we cannot identify individual users from it.

4. Information we do not collect

To be explicit, DayKeep does not collect: your name, email address, phone number, postal address, National Insurance number, UTR, bank details, contacts, photos, location, health data, or any advertising or tracking identifier. We do not require an account and there is nothing to log into.

5. Payments

Any purchase is made through Apple's App Store. Apple processes your payment and we never see your payment card or billing details. We may receive from Apple a record that a purchase, refund or subscription change has occurred, and a transaction identifier. Apple's handling of your payment information is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

6. Sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers or analytics companies.

We share information only with the service providers named in this policy, acting on our instructions under a written contract; and where we are legally required to, for example in response to a valid court order or a request from a regulator.

7. Where information is held

If you email us, your message is routed by Cloudflare, Inc. using Cloudflare Email Routing and delivered to a Google LLC (Gmail) mailbox. Both companies are based in the United States and may process your message there. Where information is transferred outside the UK in this way, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses as the safeguard for that transfer. Apart from this, we do not transfer personal data outside the UK.

8. Security

We keep the small amount of information we do hold on access-controlled systems with multi-factor authentication. Because DayKeep does not transmit your calculation data, the most sensitive information involved never leaves your device — which is the main security measure we rely on, and the reason the app is built this way.

9. Children

DayKeep is intended for adults working as contractors and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly process the personal data of anyone under 18.

10. Your rights

Where we hold personal data about you, you have the right to: ask for a copy of it; ask us to correct it if it is wrong; ask us to delete it; ask us to restrict how we use it; object to our using it on the basis of legitimate interests; and ask us to transfer it to you or another provider in a machine-readable format.

To exercise any of these, email daykeep@vilae.uk. We will respond within one month of receiving your request, or of receiving any identity confirmation or fee we have asked for, whichever is later. There is no charge in normal circumstances.

Please bear in mind that we cannot give you access to the figures you entered into DayKeep, because they are on your device and we have never had them.

11. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please tell us first at daykeep@vilae.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days of receiving it, keep you updated while we look into it, and tell you the outcome without undue delay.

If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office:

12. Changes to this policy

If we change how DayKeep handles information, we will update this policy, change the version number and effective date at the top, and tell you in the app before any material change takes effect.
